About 3 years ago, we were in a pickle. 3 years prior Peters brother left for Japan, with the army. While he was away we were going to be in charge of his vehicles (maintenance and such). We sold our cars to do just that……. You see, we had to rebuild our lives after our previous relationships hacked our credit to pieces. What were we going to do? We couldn’t buy a vehicle….. WHAT WERE WE GOING TO DO?
One day I was on Facebook….. wny heroes was asking if Facebook land new of anyone needing a vehicle. ME!!!!
So I submitted Peters information and waited for the call.
Then one day, Lynn from wny heroes called me with a story. A story about a hero, who lost his life overseas. She explained that the truck belonged to him and his family wanted to donate his truck to a deserving veteran. She asked if Peter could drive standard. YES!!!! we need this so badly…. THANK YOU.
We were chosen. My husband was chosen to receive this heroes truck. We were honored.
A few days ago we talked to a friend of ours at west herr. Peter decided to start looking for a truck. Low and behold, he was approved, and we are picking up that truck tomorrow. It took us 3 years of building credit, but we did it….
So off we went to drop off Peters red truck to the auto shop that will go over this truck with a fine tooth comb to give it to another deserving veteran. We are paying it forward.
Thank you. Thank you to wny heroes for choosing us. Thank you for remaining a part of our family…… thank you for your heart and what you do everyday for veterans.
Thank you to the Cote family. From the minute we walked in to wny heroes on that day we knew we would be forever friends…. right down to Nancy Cote abs her amazing texts, just when I need them….. An amazing family. Truly always a part of ours.
We couldn’t have done this without you. All of you. Ange Lena McGuire

Jonathon’s truck was donated to a veteran on November 16, 2017, the 11th year anniversary of Jon’s kidnapping.
